Certification

Systematizing design certification to spread knowledge and increase social credibility.

To develop human resources in industrial design, JIDA seeks to provide a wide range of knowledge related to product development and certifies applicants for third-party validation, granting certification levels commensurate with their level of expertise.

The certification system project is sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. It currently comprises two levels of certification (Level 1 and Level 2). We have published two textbooks series, each tailored to the Level 1 or Level 2 exam, and we have also published and distributed educational materials (i.e., workbooks) and conducted related courses as needed.

These activities are intended to enhance expertise in industrial design not only for designers but also for students and human resources in planning, development, manufacturing, and sales. We hope this in turn injects vitality into their industrial activities.
